[Comment] Astegolimab and the new era of biologics in COPD care
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) affects 480 million people worldwide and this is projected to increase to nearly 600 million over the next two decades.1 Long-acting beta agonists (LABA) and long-acting muscarinic antagonists (LAMA), often combined with inhaled corticosteroids (ICS), are the cornerstone of COPD management.2 However, even with maximal inhaled therapy, most patients remain symptomatic and a third continue to have multiple exacerbations.3
